"Beaches in Wollongong"

Posted by Melissa Davis on December 18, 2007 in Beaches in Wollongong

The beaches along the Wollongong coast are beautiful. There are so many of them and all are swimming and surfing beaches. North Gong beach is great and we even went into a nearby cafe and had something to eat and a coffee, while watching people swim and surf. A lovely day and I would recommend coming to Wollongong and spending the day at any of the beaches.

The beaches along the Grand Pacific Drive are some of the best in the world. The surf isn't too shabby either!

We just spent 2 weeks in Corrimal Tourist Park, what a lovely experience. Close to most things in & around Wollongong, the coastal cycle track, Corrimal beach, golf courses & the wonderful Lagoon Restaurant were our family had 2 wonderful lunches to celebrate friends 18th & 50th birthdays. Towradgi bowling club is within walking distance with friendly staff & good food. Wonderful weather accompanied us until the last few days. I can recommend it to all.

Stanwell Park beach just below the National Park and an hour from Sydney is one of the most beautiful within proximity of Sydney. Classic Australian beach set in a bush setting ! The drive thru the National Park and views from Bald Hill are amazing. This area around Stanwell Park is one of the most beautiful spots on the coast and a great place for a day trip

I drove down to Wollongong last Sunday to meet my sister for brunch. The forecast was for showery weather but instead it was glorious - all blue skies, sunshine and puffy cloud formations. North Beach on a sunny day is a hive of activity - power walkers, families, puppies and babies and an energetic volleyball game on the beach.

We were meeting for brunch at diggies, a cafe right on North Beach, so I waited in the queue for a table and called my sister to let her know that I'd arrived. We sat outdoors on the terrace and I was so hungry after the drive from Sydney that I'd wolfed my breakfast down. I'd had lunch at diggies with my sister a few months earlier and we'd eaten indoors. The cafe is decorated in "beach chic" style.

I drove back to Sydney via Grand Pacific Drive that takes you over the Sea Cliff Bridge - a most scenic journey.
